...and above all – have a really good time! Live Music Workshops offer children in special schools and primary schools (Foundation Stage, Key Stages 1 & 2)
the opportunity to interact with a professional musician - plenty of audience participation!
polished performance presentations featuring clarinet, saxophone, flute and recorder
a wide range of repertoire (classical/jazz/popular/tv themes)
pre-recorded accompaniments to give a real concert atmosphere
links with the National Curriculum – performing, composing, listening
percussion, voice and movement activities to demonstrate the musical elements: dynamics (quiet/loud/silence)
tempo (fast/slow) pitch (high/low) timbre (exploring sounds) texture (putting sounds together) structure (recognising how a piece of music is ‘built’) duration (feeling the beat and creating rhythm patterns)

a ‘one-off’ or a series of sessions
half or full day sessions activity cards or worksheets for follow-up work
themed workshops upon request*
*Teachers, please do ask if you would like the sessions to focus on a particular topic or theme. It’s often fun to work towards a ‘final’ performance, possibly to the rest of the school at the end of the day! Examples of possible themes include:
